Mercedes Schlapp has no easy job in her role as White House adviser for strategic communication. The White House's senior advisor on strategic communications Mercedes Schlapp is required faced a myriad of issues. This includes a president who is also his own director of communication and multiple legal disputes that may disrupt the communications strategy. Yet, through all of it Schlapp remains focused on the mission that she has been assigned, and is working closely with the White House's policy and legislative affairs teams and policy shops as with the larger communications team to coordinate policy rollouts. In her current position she's focused on several topics, including safety at schools and the use of opioids. There isn't much interaction with media outlets in the job she has. It was in March that she gained a sudden burst attention, when it became known that her name would be a candidate for fill in Hope Hicks's role as director of communication. The debate has been ugly.Mercedes Schlapp doesn't enjoy a smooth job of an adviser to the White House strategic communications adviser. It is not easy for Mercedes Schlapp to serve as the White House's communications strategic advisor. She has to contend with many challenges, such being a president who is his communications director. Schlapp is, however, never lost focus on her job. She collaborates closely in conjunction with White House political affairs and the legislative team as well as policy shops as well as the larger communications operation in order to coordinate the policy roll-out. To date, her focus has been issues such as safety in schools and the opioid crisis, infrastructure, trade and other related topics. She doesn't interact with reporters very much in her present position. She received a lot of press attention after she was named as the candidate for replacing Hope Hicks, the communications director. It's been a nasty fight. Schlapp's ally Tony Sayegh and an opponent who is also named Tony began fighting on the news. Following Schlapp was informed that the Washington Examiner published a negative report on Sayegh Schlapp claimed she phoned him to have a relationship with her.
